Sue Striffler Galaski, is a fourth generation funeral director, operating the oldest funeral home in the McKeesport/Mon Valley/White Oak area. Since she was 16 years old, it has been her focus to perpetuate the family tradition of excellence. She attended McKeesport High School but then graduated from Serra Catholic in 1978. She went on to college receiving her Associate's Degree in Business Administration from the College of Boca Raton (now Lynn University) in 1980 then graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1981. Sue served her internship with her father in the family business and earned her funeral director license in 1982. Since her father’s death, in 2006, she has served in the capacity as the firm’s president.
Aside from her daily duties at the funeral home, Sue gladly participates in many community functions. She has sat on several Boards of Directors including Serra Catholic High School, Penn State Greater Allegheny, LaRosa Youth Club, White Oak Animal Safe Haven, No-Kill Shelter, UPMC McKeesport and Angora Gardens. She is a member of the White Oak American Legion Auxiliary Post #701, Mary, Mother of God Parish, St. Angela Merici Church in White Oak, the White Oak Rotary, and the McKeesport Veterans Day Planning Committee. In addition, she is very involved with many community affairs including the different veterans events such as the SS McKeesport and Flag Day, well as, the Festival of the Trees.
Sue Ann is married to Steve N. Galaski and they have a son, Adam Striffler Galaski. Adam is the fifth generation funeral director in the family business…since 1866.




Adam Striffler Galaski is a fifth-generation funeral director, carrying forward his family's legacy of compassionate service that began in 1866.
Adam's journey with Striffler Family Funeral Homes began at the age of 16, when he started assisting in various capacities. He obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from St. Vincent College, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2018. Following graduation, Adam worked as a Certified Public Accountant for several years.
In 2022, he enrolled at Arapahoe Community College, where he earned his Associate of Arts in Mortuary Science in 2023. He completed his internship under the guidance of his mother within the family business, earning his funeral director's license in 2024.
Today, Adam blends his roles as both a licensed funeral director and the assistant controller. He continues to maintain his CPA license, which enables him to provide support to the family’s business, as well as to those in the community that desire his tax services.
Beyond his professional responsibilities, Adam is deeply committed to giving back to the community he calls home. He is an active member of the White Oak Rotary Club, Mon Yough Foundation, and the McKeesport Veterans Day Planning Committee. He is also a devoted member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, St. Angela Merici Church in White Oak, where he serves as both a lector and usher. His community involvement extends to numerous local events and initiatives, including the SS McKeesport ceremony, Flag Day and Veterans Day ceremonies in the surrounding communities, the McKeesport Festival of the Trees, and the McKeesport International Village.
In his free time, Adam enjoys golfing, snow skiing, and reading.




James J. Flinn is a lifelong resident of the Pittsburgh area, who has dedicated over four decades to serving families in their time of need. A Pennsylvania Licensed Funeral Director for 41 years, Jim graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1983 and has built his career on compassion and professionalism.
Jim has worked alongside three generations of the Striffler family, including Frank Sheridan Striffler, Sue Ann Striffler Galaski and Edgar Patrick Striffler, and Adam Striffler Galaski.
Jim's extensive experience and genuine care for the families make him a trusted guide during life's most difficult moments.


Mr. Heatherington founded the D. James Heatherington Funeral Home in McKeesport in 1962 and was the owner and operator until 2003. Mr. Heatherington attended the University of Pittsburgh and was a graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. He was the chair of UPMC McKeesport and a former member of its board of directors; a former member of the McKeesport Hospital Foundation board of directors; a former member of the board of directors of Shenango Presbyterian Senior Housing, Inc.; and a former consultant to TransCare, a Pittsburgh for-profit ambulance service. His former memberships included the Penn State McKeesport advisory board, the Mon-Yough Chamber of Commerce, the Pittsburgh Care Partnership board, and the McKeesport Healthier Communities Partnership. Mr. Heatherington was a member of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) board of directors and its committees on community health, insurance services division and physician services, division.
A former member of the Westmoreland County Fireman's Association, Mr. Heatherington was the assistant fire chief of the Rillton Volunteer Fire Department of Sewickley Township. He was a former member of the McKeesport Knights of Columbus, Council 955, and various antique automobile clubs, both regional and national.
Mr. Heatherington was a former deputy coroner of Allegheny County; a former two-term member of the McKeesport City Council, having served as the first president of Council (in 1976) under the city's new Home Rule Charter; former secretary/treasurer of the McKeesport Redevelopment Authority; and former member of the board of trustees of the Carnegie Library of McKeesport. He was the recipient of the 1992 Mon-Yough Chamber of Commerce Small Business Owner of the Year award and the 1995 Community Service Award. He held honorable discharges from the United States Army and the Pennsylvania National Guard.
