Xenia M. Vranesevich

December 6, 1949 — September 8, 2025

Sorrento, FL

Xenia M. Vranesevich, age 75, of Sorrento, FL, formerly of McKeesport, PA, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025.

Xenia was born in McKeesport, PA on December 6, 1949 and was the daughter of the late Milan and Stoyanka (nee Popovich) Vranesevich. She was the granddaughter of the late Very Rev. Dr. Milan G. and Zoritza Popovich.

At the age of two, she had a stroke. She had a brain operation at age seven and was taken to Boston for her surgery. She was employed for the United States District Attorney’s Office in Pittsburgh as a secretary who could type over sixty-five words a minute with one hand. She retired after thirty-two years and had a retirement party with thirty-two attorneys attending.

Xenia kept in touch with her friends from Pennsylvania.

Xenia was an active member St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, in McKeesport, PA since she was a child. She sang in the Church choir for more than twenty years. There were a lot of weddings and banquets. Xenia would help by placing plates, silverware, and coffee cups for all occasions. She was loved by many of the parishioners, whom she also loved. She also attended Sunday School. When Xenia moved to Florida, she attended the Orthodox Church of Saint Stephen the Protomartyr. Father Daniel Hickman would often visit Xenia in the Bayview Nursing Home and whenever she was admitted to the hospital there were many other parishioners that would come to visit. Her niece-in-law, Rachael, would decorate her room and organize it. She enjoyed visits from all of the family dogs.

Xenia is survived by her siblings, Zora (the late George, Jr.) Russell; Milan (Lisa) Vranesevich; niece-in-law, Rachel Russell; and great-nephew, Dalton Russell.

In addition to her parents, Xenia is preceded in death by her nephew, George Russell, III.

We will miss our loving, caring sister.
