Willis E. Gorr, age 79, of Pleasant Mount, PA, formerly of McKeesport, died June 9, 2011. He is survived by wife of 5 years, the former Viola Freund. They married June 28, 2005. He was preceded in death by first wife, Joann Jones Gorr. He was born in McKeesport, May 12, 1932, and is the son of the late Louis and Helen Willis Gorr. He was a US Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict was the retired Vice President of Jones Brewing Co., was a 50 year member of Duquesne/McKeesport Lodge 731 Free and Accepted Masons, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Al-O-Mon 138, and was a past trustee of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon and active in the Clown Unit for over 20 years. He was a member of the Syria Shrine, Cheswick a life member and past president of Caravan #4 of McKeesport, a member of Christ United Methodist Church, a 46 year member of the White Oak American Legion Post 701 and member of the NRA. He enjoyed the outdoors; hunting and fishing.
Also surviving are stepchildren Debra (Harry) Patten of Forest City, William (Diane) Freund of Niceville, FL, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, siblings Gordon (Peg) Gorr of Glassport and Evelyn Broadwell of FL, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son, David and sister and brother-in-law, Lavina and Al Markovich.
Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177) Wed. 4:00 until 8:00 pm. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thurs. Burial will follow.
