William August Yoest, Jr.

William August Yoest, Jr., age 69, of West Mifflin, PA, died on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on May 4, 1957, and was the son of the late William August, Sr. and Elizabeth Beadling Yoest. He was the husband of the late Theresa Heasly Yoest, who died on August 23, 2022. William was employed for many years by Comcast in the technology support department. He also sold fire equipment, and was a lifelong firefighter, serving most of his time at West Mifflin #3 Volunteer Fire Company.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Shannon O’Brien and her husband, Roy Molter of West Mifflin, PA; grandchildren, Derrick Jerome; Hallie O’Brien; Mason O’Brien; Dylan Pulkownik; Logan Pulkownik; and Sarah Rotz; great-grandchild, Dawson; and sister, Jean DeSimone of South Hero, VT; many nieces; nephews; and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, Bill is preceded in death by his daughter, Erin Michelle O’Brien; sister, Barbara Yoest; and nephew, Mark DeSimone.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Bill’s memory at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, and Adam Striffler Galaski, funeral directors, 412-678-6177) on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. when a firemen’s service will begin.
