William "Bill" Whitney

William "Bill" Whitney, age 77, of Adrian, PA, formerly of McKeesport, died on August 23, 2015. He was born in McKeesport on May 13, 1938 and is the son of the late William and Dorothy Barr Whitney. He served in the United States Army, was a bricklayer by trade, and was employed by the Striffler Family Funeral Homes for 28 years. Bill is survived by his loving wife; Barbara Biddle Whitney, sons; William (Cherlyn) Whitney Jr. of Moss Point, Mississippi, Rich Whitney of North Versailles, Mike Whitney of Liberty Boro, and daughters; Shari Whitney of Elizabeth Township, and Beth Ann (Tim) Flaherty of McKeesport, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and sisters; Dorothy Mae Holtzman of Irwin, and Lois Ann Clark of Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Bill is preceded in death by daughter; Patty Sue, sisters; Kay and Gail, and brother; Ed. He was a member of Eleventh Ward Club, Boston Vets Club, and the Cowansville American Legion Post 325.

Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Serves Inc. (Sue Striffler Galaski, Supervisor 412-678-6177) on Monday from 6-8 pm and Tuesday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 am in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow.
