William Wasak

William Wasak, 80, of White Oak died January 16, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was born in Port Vue on November 1, 1934 and is the son of the late Stanley and Anna Krivonak Wasak.

He was a graduate of McKeesport High School and the University of Pittsburgh. He was a nuclear engineer for Westinghouse Bettis Atomic Power Plant and retired after 39 years. He is a veteran from the US Army. He is a member of St. Angela Merici Church and was a "caller" for their Monday bingo for many years. And in retirement he enjoyed attending his grandchildren's numerous sporting events.

He is survived by his loving wife Evelyn Obusek Wasak; children, Jeffrey Wasak of White Oak and Pamela (John) Karp of North Huntingdon; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Lauren, Zachary and Ryland; sister, Mary Ann (the late Thomas) Sapos of Port Vue. He was also survived by nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177) on Sunday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Mass will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Angela Church with Fr. Kevin Dominik officiating. Entombment will follow.
