William J. Svetz

William J. Svetz, 78, of Port Vue, died Oct. 24, 2012. He was born in Port Vue on March 28, 1934 and is the son of the late Steve and Anna Synko Svetz. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gail E. McManus Svetz, children; Steven Svetz of Liberty Boro, and Joseph Svetz of Glassport, JoAnne (Gregg) Keck of West Mifflin, grandchildren; Joseph, Billy, Anthony, David and Michael, sister-in-law; Jacqueline (the late Edward) Svetz of Elyria, Ohio and brother; Robert (Shirley) of Florida.

He was retired as a bricklayer from Local Union #9, was a US Veteran serving in the army in the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Beagle Club, the Rostraver Gun Club, the Elizabeth Sportsman Club, the West Newton Gun Club and the Stock the Yough Club.

Friends will be received at Hunter-Edmundson-Striffler Funeral Home, 600 Market St., McKeesport, 15132 (412 678 6191) on Sat. from 12:00-2:00 pm and 4:00-6:00 pm. Burial and services will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
