William "Don" Ponsonby

William "Don" Ponsonby, 73, of McKeesport, died Sept. 18, 2011. Born in Brownsville on May 4, 1938 he is the son of the late Charles and Mary Marish Ponsonby. He was retired from Ringsdorf and WABCO as a machinist. He is survived by wife Edith Zatelli Ponsonby, children; Diana "Dee" (Mallay) Volpe and William C. Ponsonby both of White Oak and Brian (Lois) Ponsonby of N. Huntingdon, grandchildren; William, Amanda, Mallay, Josh, Tyler, Amanda, David and Adam, great grandchildren; Jordan and Jayden, siblings:Katherine Lingsch of Charleston, W. VA and Patrick (Bernie) Ponsonby of Raleigh, N Carolina. He was preceded in death by his sister Nancy Ponsonby Severino.

He was a member of the Eleventh Ward Club and was in the Navy Reserves. He attended all of his grandchildren's sporting events and he was their #1 fan.
Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Creation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 413-678-6177) on Tues. 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wed. at 11:00 am with Fr. Daniel Straughn.
