Thomas Raymond Palonis

Thomas Raymond Palonis, age 81, of N. Huntingdon, formerly of Wilkins Twp., died Feb. 11, 2012. He was born in Johnstown on July 25, 1930 and is the son of the late Michael and Ruth McAchran Palonis and the husband of the late Mary Thom Hood Palonis who died Aug. 5, 2008. He was retired from Wiggins Company in Homewood and then worked part time at Sears Automotive and Applebee's Restaurant. He was an U.S. Army veteran serving in Korea. He was a Director for the Greater Pittsburgh Men's Slow Pitch Softball League for approximately 20 years and a former member of the Eastmont Volunteer Fire Company.

He is survived by his daughter; Cindy (the late Gerald who died Nov. 1, 2011) Hess of N. Huntingdon, grandchildren; Michael and Stephen Hess and Alexis Palonis.

Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177) on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Douglas Burns officiating. Burial will be in Braddock Cemetery.
