Thomas H. Johnston, 88, of White Oak, died Saturday, July 4, 2015. He was born Oct. 3, 1926, in Glassport, and was the son of the late Kenneth and Mary Catherine Davidson Johnston. He was a member of St. Patrick Church in McKeesport and the White Oak American Legion Post 701. He enlisted in the Navy on Feb. 3, 1944, served during World War II, and retired March 3, 1969. He was preceded in death by his wife, Angeline Scire Johnston; daughter, Rosalie Johnston Jennings; and brother, Kenneth Johnston. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Tambella Amendola Johnston; children, Thomas Johnston, of Clearwater, Fla., Marcia Ann Rogers, of Littleton, Colo., and Angela Marie Johnston, of Malborough, Md.; stepson, Dr. Mark Amendola, of Endwell, N.Y.; grandsons, Michael Rogers, Christopher and Nicholas Johnston; and great-grandsons, Gavin and Caven Rogers. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at STRIFFLERS OF WHITE OAK CREMATION & MORTUARY SERVICES, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, 412-678-6177). Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Church. Burial will follow. Remembrances may be made to St. Patrick Church, 310 32nd St., McKeesport, PA 15132.
