Susan Tassone

Susan Tassone, age 83, of McKeesport died Sept. 12, 2011. She was born Sept. 1, 1928, and raised in Valley Lee, Maryland. She is the daughter of the late John Frank and Maude Isabelle Slade. Susan is preceded in death by her husband, Vincent J. Tassone, her granddaughter, Dawn Marie Harper, and 4 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her 5 children: Vincent J. Tassone, Jr. of Chambersburg, PA , Yvonne Moore of San Diego, CA, Beverly Tassone of McKeesport, PA, Teri Hawkins of Dover, DE, Michael L. Tassone of Pana, IL along with their respective spouses and partners.

Susan is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, 2 sisters, and 36 nieces and nephews.

Although she held various jobs, she enjoyed most her years as a crossing guard on Versailles Avenue and volunteering with the American Cancer Society.

Susan lived her life around her family and her favorite moments were when they were altogether.

Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177) on Thurs 4-8 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Fri. at 10:00 am with Pastor Royce Barrett. Burial will follow.
