Stewart Ekin, age 98, of Gibsonia, PA, formerly of North Huntingdon, PA, peacefully passed on Sunday, August 17, 2025. He was born in McKeesport, PA on August 12, 1927, and was the son of the late Albert and Elsie Heidle Ekin.
Stewart served in the United States Marine Corps. He enlisted in October 1950 and was promoted to Sargent in March 1952. He served in the Korean War for 14 months. Stewart was a plumber in the McKeesport area and was known as “the curly haired” plumber.
In addition to his parents, Stewart is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Marjorie Ekin; sisters, Elsie Dean; Jane Early; Hellen Manning; and Susie Myers.
Stewart is survived by his children, Albert (Darlene) Ekin of Vacaville, CA; Stewart (Terri) Ekin of Painesville, OH; daughter, Diane Yenerall of Allison Park; PA; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brother, George (Leslie) Ekin of Dayton, OH.
Family and friends will gather at Sampson's Mills Presbyterian Church, 1665 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131, on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. for a Celebration of Life, which will start at 10:00 a.m. A burial will follow at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery. Stewart enjoyed wearing bow ties to church and events. We invite you to wear a bow tie as we celebrate his life.
