Sarah S. Shaffer

Sarah S. Shaffer, age 80, of N. Versailles, formerly of Hammock, Florida and Deep Creek, Maryland died June 26, 2013. She was born in McKeesport on January 11, 1933 and is the daughter of the late Charles and Mildred Flygar Schleifer. She is the wife of the late William T. Shaffer and mother of the late George T. Shaffer.

She was a former operator of the Sarah Shaffer Beauty Salon in Wilmerding and a member of St. Roberts in East McKeesport.

She is survived by children; William (Judy) Shaffer of Jeannette, Mark (Kathy) Shaffer of Bear, Delaware, Cindy (Kathy Rizza) Shaffer of Pleasant Hills, grandchildren; Daniel (Katya) Shaffer, Jeffery (Aimee) Shaffer, Kevin (Brenna) Shaffer, April (Sam) Swank and Bryan (Lindsay) Shaffer, great- grandchildren; John, Tyler, Dean, Ella, Landen and Logan, siblings; Charles (Millie) Schleifer of E. McKeesport, Kenneth (the late Dolly) Schleifer of White Oak and Sharon (Joe) Reeher of Forest Hills Boro.

Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177) on Thursday from 6-8 pm and Friday from 2-4 & 6-8pm. Mass will be held Sat. at 12:15 at St. Roberts Church. Entombment will follow.
