Sandy Ann Freeman, age 62, of McKeesport, PA passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026 after a courageous journey with dementia and other health issues and was surrounded by those who love her. She was born on July 19, 1964, and was a lifelong resident of McKeesport, PA.
McKeesport was not simply where Sandy lived, it was her home, the community she knew and loved throughout her entire life.
Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Robert D. Freeman. She is survived by her loving mother, Christine Perez Freeman; brother, Bob “Joe” (Jodi) Freeman of Spotsylvania, VA; sister, Wendy Freeman of AZ; several aunts and uncles who were an important part of her life, Judy (Dave) Campbell of Liberty Boro; Bonnie (Bruce) Kuk of Arona; Evelyn Megela of McKeesport; and Richard “Moe” Perez of McKeesport. She will be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews, including Krystal (KC) Freeman of Watertown, New York; Matthew Freeman of Tombstone, AZ; Mike Freeman of McKeesport; Caitlyn (Ryan) Nemeth of Jacksonville, FL; Colby (Jazlyn) Freeman of Fort Worth, TX; great nieces and nephews, Isabella Williams; Madrix Freeman; Matthew Freeman; Mason Freeman; Ethan Davis; Talan Nemeth; Forest Freeman; and Vida Fae Freeman; and numerous cousins, all who held a special place in her heart.
Sandy had a special love for the Pittsburgh Steelers and WWE and proudly embraced her passion for being a Pittsburgh sports fan. She was also a valued part of the MYARC community and employee for Vocational Business Alliance where she made connections and shared experiences that brought meaning and joy to her life. In her final years, Sandy’s family was blessed by the kindness and dedication of those who cared for her.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Bayada and RMKing Services for the compassion, patience, and loving care they provided, allowing Sandy to remain comfortable and rest peacefully in her own home. We are also deeply grateful to the staff of Bridges, who assisted tremendously during Sandy’s final hours and helped provide comfort and support to Sandy and her family when it was needed most. Sandy’s life was made up of the people she loved, the community she called home, and the simple things that brought her happiness. While dementia may have taken away many things from her over time, it could never take away the love that surrounded her. She will be remembered, missed, and loved by her family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Rest peacefully, Sandy. You are loved, and you will never be forgotten.
