Robert "Bob" E. Greaves

Robert E. Greaves "Bob", 92, of North Versailles formerly of White Oak, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday January 13, 2013. He was born in McKeesport on November 22, 1920 to the late Harry Greaves and Elsie Newton Greaves Sherwood. Bob retired as an Accountant /Auditor for Teledyne Firth Sterling in 1985 after 45 years of service. He graduated from McKeesport High School and Robert Morris University. Bob was a member of Sampson's Mills Presbyterian Church. He was an avid tennis player who won many trophies through the 74 years he played. He loved the outdoors and walked every chance he had. He played the piano in several groups at nightclubs and for weddings and also loved to entertain his family, friends and residents of Point Pleasant Retirement Community. He was preceded in death by his brothers Alfred and Russell Greaves. Bob is survived by his wife; Jean Shallenberger Greaves, daughters; Sandy (Dennis) Liberatore of Worcester, MA, Debbie (Mark) Sherer of Penn Township, PA, Donna (Craig) Curran of Pittsford, NY and Bobbi (Tim) Dunn of White Oak, PA, grandchildren; Dennis (Lynne) Liberatore, Melissa (Mike) Butler, Ryan (Rachel) Mitchell, Ashley (Ryan) Quinton, Natalie Curran, Christopher Curran and Brandon Dunn, great-grandchildren; Ethan and Ben Butler, Sarah and Danielle Liberatore.

Friends will be received from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177). Funeral service will be held at Sampson's Mills Presbyterian Church in White Oak on Wednesday at 12 noon with the Rev. Dr. J. Bruce Byers presiding. Interment will follow. Bob will be greatly missed as he was dearly loved by his family.
