Robert Coester Sr., 64, of White Oak, died May 5, 2012. He was born in Wexford on February 15, 1948 and is the son of the late Julius D. and Mary E Coester.
He retired from the Department of Welfare and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Suriviving are his children, Robert (Arianna) Coester Jr. of South Park and Heather (Nathan) Liebau of Baldwin and a special dad to Brian (Valerie) Ritenour of White Oak; grandchildren, Evelyn Jane, Lily-Ann, Gabriella, and a special grandpa to Michael and Dylan , fiance; Kathe Tepel of White Oak, siblings Thomas Coester of Mountain Home, ID and Marlene Tindal of Gettysburg. He is preceded in death by brother William Coester.
He was the former President of the White Oak Rod and Gun Club.
Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177) on Wed from 2-4 & 6-8pm. Services will be held Thursday at 10am. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
In honor of the sportsman and teacher he was, remembrances may be made to the White Oak Rod and Gun Club, 600 Skellytown Rd, N.Huntingdon, PA 15642 for their Youth Day Event on June 30th.
