Robert L. Baer, 84, of McKeesport died September 10, 2014. He was born in McKeesport on December 14, 1929 and is the son of the late Stanley (Wiesniewski) Baer and Helen Schwerha Baer and the husband of the late Gladys J. Taylor Baer. He was retired from US Steel Irvin Works and served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Port Vue American Legion and a member of the former St. Pius Church. He loved hunting, fishing and camping in Leeper, Cook Forest. He is survived by daughters, Deborah (Leonard) Krotz of Elizabeth Twp., Joyce (David) Waratuke of McKeesport; grandchildren, Amy (Tony) Marcic of McKeesport, Rob (Lori Schade) Waratuke of Monroeville; great-grandchildren, Zach and Noah Marcic and Christopher Waratuke; Sister, SM Genevra Baer of Convent of Mercy in Pittsburgh.

He is preceded in death by infant son, Robert A. Baer; and siblings, Jean Baer, Julia Horst, Stanley Baer, and Charles Morningstar.

Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177) on Friday 1:00 until 4:00 pm & 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Liturgy Outside of Mass will be held Saturday in the funeral home chapel at 9:30 am. Burial will follow in McKeesport & Versailles Cemetery.
