Richard A. Nissen

Richard A. Nissen, age 88, of Pleasant Hills, PA, died on Monday, August 3, 2026. He was born in Duquesne, PA, on July 15, 1938, and was the son of the late Oscar W. and Jessie Williams Nissen. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marian Nissen. He retired as a branch manager from Applied Industrial Technologies. He proudly served in the United States Air Force.

Richard is survived by his children, Kimberly (Peter) Loceff of Pleasant Hills, PA; Joyce Nissen of Pleasant Hills, PA; and Richard J. (Grace) Nissen of North Huntingdon, PA; grandchildren, Kali (Cory) Scott; Victoria (Patrick) Shiner; Shane (Jessica) Nissen; Mitchell (Theresa) Magiera; Margaret (fiancé Matthew Markulin) Loceff; Jeremy Nissen; and Phillip Barkac; Great-grandchildren, Carson Scott; Kennedy Scott; and Callum Shiner. Richard is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents and wife, Richard is preceded in death by his siblings, Oscar Nissen, Hannah Maurer, Charles Nissen, Herman Nissen, John Nissen, and Dorothy Dickover.

Family and friends are invited to gather to honor Richard’s memory on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, and Adam Striffler Galaski, funeral directors, 412 678 6177) from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Chrisitan Burial will take place on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, 529 Grant Ave., Ext., West Mifflin, PA 15122 and burial will be in the church cemetery next to his wife.
