Peter Hornod, 91, of McKeesport, died Wednesday August 14, 2013. He was born in McKeesport on June 12, 1922 and is the son of the late Phillip and Julia Diglitch Hornod. He was the husband of the late Ellen E. Paranick Hornod. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was employed at US Steel National Tube in McKeesport. He was a member of the American Legion Post #701 in White Oak and the 11th Ward Club.
He is survived by sister; Anna (Mike) Galka of Anaheim, CA, niece; Dolores Nelson of McKeesport, dear friend; Anna Mae Bashista of White Oak and other nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177) on Sun. from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM when the services will be held in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow.
