Patrick Emmett McBride, age 73, of McKeesport, PA, died on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. He was born in McKeesport, PA, on November 9, 1952, and was the son of the late Emmett Patrick and Elizabeth McGowan McBride.

He was known for traveling the country portraying Benjamin Franklin as a living history reenactor. In 2019, he began making appearances at history centers, club gatherings, colonial fairs, social events, and regional and national coin shows. He had a unique way of sharing his knowledge with both children and adults. Patrick was a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Numismatists, and the Central States Numismatic Society. He served as president of the Pennsylvania Association of Numismatists and was a former Boy Scout leader.

Patrick is survived by his wife, Dawn Rogers McBride; children, Erin R. Liddel; Patrick M. McBride; and Zachary McClemens; grandchildren, Haley Liddel; Kenna Liddel; Isabella McClemens; and Penelope McClemens; and sisters, Virginia (the late George) Kern; and Maureen (David Lower) McBride.

Burial arrangements were cared for by Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177).

A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, August 30, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at The Priory Hotel, 614 Pressley Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212. Music, bagpipes (a special kind of music for the uninitiated), stories (anyone can offer a story), and a shared love of Himself. Plus food, and refreshments.
