Nicholas Michael Kapottas, 79, of White Oak, died Sept. 10, 2012. He was born in Canonsburg on April 1, 1933 and is the son of the late Michael N. and Margetta Pambacas Kapottas. He was the former husband of the late Christine Madias Kapottas.
He received his Bachelor's Degree from Waynesburg College and then taught history in the Canon McMillan School District in the early 60's. He later taught World Culture in the McKeesport Area School District for 33 years until he retired. He was one of the pioneers of the wrestling team at McKeesport High School. He was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in White Oak and was a US Army veteran.
He is survived by children, Michael (Maria) Kapottas and Tina Kapottas all of White Oak; nephews, Michael and Joseph Billy of Monessen. He is the brother of the late Koula Billy.
Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, 412 678 6177) on Wed. from 1:00 until 8:00 pm. (There will be Trisagion Services Wed. at 6:30 p.m.). Funeral services will be officiated by Fr. William Zotis Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 1128 Summit St., White Oak, 15131. Burial will follow at Oak Spring Cemetery in Canonsburg.
