Michael George Mesiarik

Michael George Mesiarik, 68, of McKeesport, died Tuesday, June 9, 2015. He was born Sept. 12, 1946, in White Oak, a son of the late Michael J. and Goldie DeLong Mesiarik. He was employed at Big Lots Department Store in North Versailles and prior had been employed with H&R Block and Airport Limo Services. He is an Army veteran having served in the Vietnam Era. He is a member of the White Oak American Legion Post No. 701, the Ebonite's Bowling League, was a past member of the Patriots Bowling League, a member of the Sampson's Mills Presbyterian Church and a member of the Piccadilly Pub Crew. As a 17th anniversary gift from his wife, with the help of Joseph Gallagher of the Sons of the American Legion Post No. 701, he was presented with 31 military medals and ribbons which were previously lost. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Anne Murnek Mesiarik; sons, Michael Shane Mesiarik, of New York, and Steven S. (Christine) Mesiarik, of Tennessee; stepdaughters, Monica (Robert) Kitta, of North Huntingdon, Linda (Jeff) Carlson, of Wilmerding, Margaret (Nicholas) Ursta, of White Oak, Roseanne Debruyn, of White Oak, and Amanda (Mark) Davidson, of Opelika, Ala.; siblings, George (Toni) Mesiarik, of Elizabeth, Thomas (Helen) Mesiarik, of Conway, S.C., and Rose Marie Brumbaugh, of McKeesport; grandchildren, Damian, Cassidy, Savannah, Michael, Corey and Angelina Mesiarik, Ashley and special grandson Adam Kitta, Jeffrey and Cody Carlson and Michael Debruyn; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his constant companions, Karly and Kuss-Kuss. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Peter Mesiarik; and his son-in-law, Michael Debruyn. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2015, and from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at STRIFFLERS OF WHITE OAK CREMATION AND MORTUARY SERVICES, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177). Services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with full military honors.
