Michael Thomas Mantich, age 54, of North Huntingdon, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 18, 2026. He was born on March 9, 1972, in McKeesport, PA, and was the son of Edward Paul Mantich, Sr. and the late Justine Thomas Mantich.
Michael was a devoted collector of Star Wars and sports memorabilia and truly loved the thrill of the hunt for the next special piece. He valued deep, lifelong friendships and had a gift for storytelling—reminiscing about the “old days” in a way that could make anyone laugh, no matter how many times they had heard the story before. His well-known “Mantichisms” brought smiles to many. Though sometimes a bit rough around the edges, Michael’s kindness and compassion for others always shone through.
Above all, he cherished his family and the many circles of friends he built throughout his life—from childhood, neighbors, work, and his collecting community. He was also a loving cat dad to Squiggy, Ben, Luke, Rocky, and Cali. He was well known for his love of pizza.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Dawn Pingor Mantich; his father, Edward Paul Mantich, Sr.; his siblings, Deborah (John) Solvay of North Huntingdon, Edward (Cheryl) Mantich Jr. of Bridgeville, and Steven Mantich of White Oak; his father- and mother-in-law, Thomas and Nancy Pingor of Munhall; brothers-in-law, Tom Pingor of Munhall, Ron (Ana) Pingor of El Paso, TX, and Vince (Marianne) Kostelnik of North Huntingdon; sisters-in-law, Karen Scott of West Mifflin and Marnyn (Mark) Donis of Munhall; along with nieces and nephews, Lindsey (Joe), Christian, Mark, Christa (Nik), Nathan, Courtney (Migel), Jackie, Ashley (Kory), Elisa (Aslan), Alexa, Kimberly (Jeff), Rebecca, Connor, Noah, Roman; and great nieces and nephews Colin, Bowden, Lucas, Lydia, Finley, Mikayla, Rory, and Rhea. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
