Maxine Lang

Maxine Lang, age 83, of North Versailles, PA, formerly of White Oak, PA, died on Sunday, June 21, 2026. She was born in McKeesport, PA, on February 23, 1943, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Gertrude Weinberg Rosner.

She was employed by the McKeesport Area School District for many years and the Long Run Children’s Learning Center. She was a member of the Gemilas Chessed Synagogue and the McKeesport Lions Club. Maxine volunteered at UPMC McKeesport and local food banks in White Oak and McKeesport area. She enjoyed shopping for others and spending time with her friends and family.

Maxine is survived by her daughters, Hope (Jeff) Bonomo of Steubenville, OH; and Robin (Jeff Buterbaugh) Smart of White Oak, PA; grandchildren, Trent Bolek of Canton, OH; Jesse Bolek of Steubenville, OH; Hannah Smart of White Oak, PA; Justin Buterbaugh of Johnstown, PA; Kate Bonomo of Austin, TX; Adam Bonomo of Akron, OH; and Georgia Pavlic of Wintersville, OH.

In addition to her parents, Maxine is preceded in death by her husband, Sylvan William Lang, who died on June 7, 2023; and sister, Joyce Lebowitz, who died on April 5, 2023.

A graveside service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026, officiated by Rabbi Mendy Schapiro, at New Gemilas Chesed Cemetery, 193 Upper Heckman Road, North Versailles Township, PA, 15137. Arrangements are being cared for by Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177).
