Mary Anne Tatters, age 73, of White Oak died March 20, 2015 peacefully at home with her daughter, Beth Messner and grandson and caregiver, Nick Smith by her side. She was born in McKeesport on December 30, 1941 and is the daughter of the late William H. and Martha E. Williams Kline and the wife of the late Edward W. Tatters, Sr. She was a private home health caregiver and worked for many families throughout the area. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels, was the Vice President and on the Distribution Committee of the Confederation of District Women's Clubs. She loved square dancing, camping and was a member of the Franklin Squares Square Dancers. She was known to several as "Love Bug" and as "Honey" by her grandchildren and sister.
She is survived by daughters, Jamie Smith of Elizabeth, Beth (Thomas) Messner of Howell, New Jersey; stepsons, Edward W. (Jacque) Tatters, Jr. of McKeesport, Timothy Tatters of White Oak; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Billie E. (William) Culmer of Jacksonville, Florida; nephew, Donald (Melissa) Culmer of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; an aunt and cousins.
Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Service, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131, (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177) on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM. Services will be Monday at 10:00 AM at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow.
