Mary Ann Popelas

Mary Ann Popelas, age 88, of McKeesport, died Dec. 28, 2014. She was born in McKeesport on March 11, 1926 and is the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Demko Kovaly. She is the wife of the late Michael D. Popelas and was the secretary for the Chairman of the Board, S. Warne Robinson, of G.C. Murphy Co. in McKeesport.

She is survived by her sons; Daniel (Claudia) Popelas of Sterling, VA and Kenneth (Debra) Popelas of Oro Valley, AZ, grandson; Brian Popelas of Oro Valley, AZ, siblings; John (Joan) Kovaly of Dover, Mass., Irene (the late Joseph) Milasincic of N. Hills and Ann (the late Bob) Petras of Elizabeth Twp. and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177) on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wed. at 10:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church with Fr. Michael Maranowski officiating. Burial will follow.
