Mary "Mrs. Jack" Louise Mccain

Mary Louise McCain (Mrs. Jack), 88, of White Oak died on October 14, 2010 at home. Born March 19, 1922 in McKeesport, PA she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Thompson Chew (Charlotte Mary Kline).

She was a graduate of California State Teachers College (now California University) where she was President of Kappa Delta Phi and Pi Gamma Mu. She was also a member of College Players and The Nature Club. She taught for 37 years in West Mifflin schools, Versailles Township (now White Oak) and McKeesport Schools.

Mary Lou was a Past Worthy Matron of White Oak Chapter 542, Order of the Eastern Star; Past President of the White Oak Junior Women's Club; Past Regent of the Queen Alliquippa Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution and a present member of the Braddock Trail D.A.R.; Past State Chaplain of the Pennsylvania State Society D.A.R.; Chaplain of the Past Regents Club of the Southwestern Society of the PA D.A.R.; Past President of the Lanquedoc Chapter of the Huguenot Society of Pennsylvania; Past President of The McKeesport College Club; member of The Colonial Dames of the 17th Century; member of The Ancient and Honorable Field Artillery; member of the McKeesport Hospital Juniors Committee; member of the McKeesport Area Retired School Personnel; Life member of the Y.M.C.A; member of the Altrusa Club of McKeesport.

She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church of White Oak and its Missionary Society.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Jack Alan McCain, Sr., her brother Colonel Allen Frank Chew at The United States Air Force Academy of Colorado; and two half-brothers, Joseph Thompson Chew II and Chester Forrest Chew, PhD of Arizona

She was the mother of Jack Alan McCain, Jr. (Diana) of Durham, Connecticut and Janet Lee Gerber (James) of White Oak; Grandmother of Heather Fox-Sutek (Peter) of Elizabeth Twp., Daniel Garrett Fox II of Liberty Boro, Jack Alan McCain III of Pittsburgh, Bethany, Katherine and Larissa Gerber of White Oak; Great-Grandmother to Dakota Fox, Gregory and Camden Sutek, Payton Haubrich, Garrett Fox and Jax Stewart.

Services will be Sunday, October 17, 6:00PM at Wesley United Methodist Church of White Oak, 1229 Prescott St., White Oak, PA 15131.

Burial in Sewickley Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
