Mary M. Lepako, age 85, of Liberty Borough, died April 30, 2013. She was born in Duquesne on June 13, 1927 and is the daughter of the late Theodore and Mary Halley Dmytrysczak. She is preceded in death by her husband Alphonse J. "Scotty" Lepako and her daughter, Melanie Severns.
She is survived by her children; Les (Sue) Lepako of Everett, PA, Wendy (Daniel) Vogel of Steubenville, OH, grandchildren; Michael (Joy) Lepako, Scott (Shannon) Lepako, Lauren Vogel and Daniel Vogel, great-grandchild; Garrison.
Mary worked as a waitress for the former Holiday House in Monroeville, the Youghiogheny Country Club and then the former Lemon Tree in McKeesport. She was a member of St. Mark's Parish, Christian Mothers and served as a Eucharistic Minister. She also delivered food to the homebound from St. Mark's and volunteered for the Duquesne Food Bank and the Mon Yough Food Bank. She was a member of the Port Vue/Liberty Seniors, White Oak AARP, and the McKeesport Hospital Women's Auxiliary.
Mary spent the last year of her life at the Wyngate Assisted Living Community in Weirton, WV to be close to her daughter. Her family and church were her life. She was the kindest and most giving person, who loved to bake and crochet.
Funeral Mass will be Friday at noon at St. Mark's Parish in Liberty Borough with Father Daniel Straughn officiating. Burial will follow.
