Marlene Mae Shapira

Marlene Mae Shapira, age 80, of White Oak, died on Monday, January 8, 2024. She was born in Pittsburgh on August 9, 1943 and was the daughter of the late Phillip and Julia Brown Richey. She was employed as a nurse’s aid for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Samuel Shapira; children, Morris (Dawn) Shapira of East McKeesport; Tina Cross of West Mifflin; granddaughter, Laura Cross of White Oak; and sister, Phyllis (James) Agnole of Porter Ranch, CA.

In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by her brother, Russell Richey.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at New Gemilas Chesed Cemetery in White Oak with Rabbi Howie Stein officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177).
