Marilyn Ruth Mular

August 17, 1931 — February 23, 2021

Marilyn Ruth Mular, age 89, of White Oak, died on Tuesday, February 23, 2021. She was born in McKeesport, PA on August 17, 1931 and is the daughter of the late John and Mary Hayduk Rice and the wife of the late Joseph Mular. Marilyn was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and was a retired elementary education teacher from the McKeesport Area School District. She was a substitute teacher for the McKeesport schools after her retirement as well as a volunteer at St. Angela Merici School. Marilyn was a part time math teacher for the Allegheny Intermediate Unit and a former volunteer cub scout leader. She was a current member of St. Angela Merici Church where she was active through the years and a volunteer for the McKeesport Regional History & Heritage Center. In her earlier years she was very much interested in the stock market and enjoyed watching it daily.

She is survived by her sons, Paul (Joan Takahashi) Mular of San Carlos; Kenneth Mular from Marina, California; and Chris (Christine “Tina”) Mular of Monroeville, grandsons, Ian and Colin Mular, and granddaughter, Jennifer Mular; sister, Jacqueline Lescott of Peters Twp. In additional to her husband, she is preceded in death by son, John Mular, who died September 10, 2020.

A gathering will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177). Family and friends are welcome to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Mary, Mother of God Parish, St. Angela Merici Church, 1640 Fawcett Avenue, White Oak, PA 15131 on Saturday, February 27, 2021 for a Mass at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow.
