Marian J. (Fry) McKay, 78, of Spring Twp., passed away March 14, 2013 in Reading Hospital. She was the wife of Thomas R. McKay, Jr. who passed away March 19, 2010. She was born June 18, 1934 in Gratztown, PA a daughter to the late Richard E. and Florence (Roe) Fry. Marian was a 1952 graduate of Sewickley Township High School. After working on Wall Street she was employed as a secretary by U.S. Steel National Works in the Engineering Department.Surviving are two daughters Maureen A. (McKay) wife of James H. Klahr of Wyomissing and Donna I. McKay of Tallmadge, Ohio; two grandchildren Christopher J. Klahr and Colleen A. Klahr and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family from across the country. She was predeceased by siblings Helen Tamasy, Charles Fry, Richard Fry, Jean Gesler, Marjorie Constantine, and step brothers Ralph Roe and Victor Roe. She was associated with the Order of the Eastern Star, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and St. Joseph's Auxiliary, White Oak Catholic Women's Guild, McKeesport Hospital Junior Committee and the Penn Hills Garden Club. Creating a loving family environment and helping to raise her two grandchildren were her life's work. She enjoyed parties with family and friends, volunteering in the community, and vacations at the beach. Friends and relatives will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177) on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00 AM in St. Angela Merici RCC.,1640 Fawcett Ave., White Oak, PA by the Very Rev. Stephen Chervenek.
