Lorraine Wernke, age 80, of White Oak, died Oct. 25, 2010. She was born in McKeesport on August 4, 1930 and is the daughter of the late John and Hilda Cochran Coddington. She was a retired Instructional Assistant for McKeesport Area School District where she was a loyal employee for over 20 years.

She is the wife of the late Fred W. "Nene" Wernke who died Aug. 19, 1993. She is survived by children Jinx A. (Jim) McCabe of White Oak, Fred W. "Fritz" (Lori) Wernke, Jr. of Elizabeth Twp., Christopher (Kim) Wernke of Murrysville and Charlie J. Wernke of McKeesport. She is the proud grandmother of Matthew (Megan) McCabe of N. Huntingdon, Michael (Robin) McCabe of Pgh., Chelsey Wernke of Murrysville, Carlee and Hannah Wernke of Elizabeth Twp. And she is the loving great grandmother of Macey, Riley, and Myla McCabe. She is also survived by siblings Dorothy Watson of Exton, PA, Wanda Rhoades of Decatur, Alabama, and Russell Coddington of Port Charlotte, Florida.

Lorraine was a former member of the 1948 McKeesport Area School District Class Reunion Committee, former volunteer for Meals on Wheels, former Volunteer at the McKeesport Festival of Trees, and former volunteer at McKeesport's International Village for the McKeesport Alumni Booth, a former active member of the White Oak PTA and the McKeesport PTSA.

Friends will be received at Striffler's of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak 15131 (412-678-6177) on Wed. from 3:00 until time of service at 7:00PM with Rev. Brian A. Evans officiating.
