Liberty Stamatelos Amorgianos, age 98, of White Oak, died Sept. 29, 2011. She was born in Chios, Greece on July 4, 1913 and was the daughter of the late Demetri and Ypatia (Patricia) Marrtakie Mamas. She was a seamstress for the former Cox's Department Store and Klein's Men's Store. She was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church the Philoptochos Society where she was formerly a secretary and treasurer, and the Chios Society. She was preceded in death by her husbands James Stamatelos and John Amorgianos and numerous brothers and sisters. She is survived by children Katherine P. Stamatelos with whom she resided and James P. (Helen) Stamatelos of Zelienople, grandchildren Kristen, James J. (J.J.) and Michael.

Liberty was a very multitalented and intelligent woman. She endured much heartache during her lifetime. Yet, her warm smile, twinkle in the eyes, humbleness, and enormous amount of love have always shined through.

Friends were received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177) on Sunday from 5:00 until 9:00 pm. Services will be held Mon. at 1:00 pm at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will follow at McKeesport & Versailles Cemetery.
