Kenneth Eugene Schleifer

Kenneth Eugene Schleifer, age 83 of White Oak, formerly of Glassport, died March 13, 2014. He was born in McKeesport on July 28, 1930 and is the son of the late Charles T. and Mildred Flygar Schleifer. He was the husband of the late Doris "Dolly" Pastor Schleifer. He served in the US Army during the Korean War 38th Infantry Regiment and was a Bronze Star recipient. He was employed by Bell Telephone until he retired. He was a member of St. Angela Merici Parish, #443 Glassport American Legion and a former member of the South Allegheny Band Parents. He loved going to the Casinos, watching television and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children; Connie Schleifer of White Oak, Kenneth (Karen) Schleifer of Dagsboro, Delaware, grandchildren; Amanda (Andrew) Collier, Kameron and Marlena, siblings; Charles (Mildred "Millie") Schleifer of East McKeesport, Sharon (Joe) Reeher of Pittsburgh. He is preceded in death by sister; Sarah Shaffer.

Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177) on Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Angela Merici Church with Rev. Kevin Dominik officiating. Burial will follow.
