Justina Marie Stokan

Justina Marie Stokan, age 70, of McKeesport, PA, left this world on August 23, 2026, doing something she loved, camping, surrounded by people she loved and celebrating her seventieth birthday.

Justina was a mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and cousin. Her sons, Ronald James Stokan, Jr.; and Andrew Theodore Stokan; were her life’s joy. Then came her grandchildren, Prudence Laurel Stokan; and Ozzy Gram Stokan; who quickly became her new favorite adventures.

Family was everything to Justina. She was born to the late John and Ethel Chorman Husok, on August 16, 1956, and was the fourth of six children: Crystal; John; the late Eric; Nicholas; and the late Theodore. Throughout her life, she stayed close to her extended family and friends, near and far, always remembering birthdays and holidays with a handwritten card or phone call to check in.

Justina spent most of her life in McKeesport, PA, where she grew up on Reynolds Street and Library Avenue before living in Tucson, AZ, for many years. She worked at Auberle in McKeesport, PA, and at primary schools in Tucson, AZ. She touched the lives of countless children with her kindness and caring nature.

Justina loved books, storytelling, and camping. She could easily read a book a day and famously memorized The Raven, which she loved to recite at parties. Some of her favorite stories were the ones she created with her grandchildren, letting their imaginations run wild. She and Prudence shared a special love of collecting rocks, turning ordinary outings into treasure hunts, being outdoors, sitting around a campfire, telling stories, and laughing. Spending time with the people she loved was exactly where Justina wanted to be.

Justina will be remembered for her stories, her love of family, and the way she made people feel special and remembered. She has found eternal peace, and we will forever seek her presence in the glow of the campfire, in the pages of a good book, in a handwritten card, and perhaps in a little rock picked up along the way.
