Joseph R. Kunak

Joseph R. Kunak, age 72, of Dravosburg, died tragically and was taken on July 11, 2015 in a car accident. He was on his way to New Jersey for the annual family beach vacation. He was born in Homestead on January 20, 1943 and was the son of the late Edward and Helen Rusnak Kunak. He is survived by his wife; Karen Taylor Kunak, daughter; Susan (Christian) Cardello, son; Kenneth (Bobbi) Kunak, granddaughter; Gianna Cardello, brother; Eugene (Mary) Kunak, sister in law, Linda (Rich) Hennon and sister in law; Lois Franks.
Joe lived a simple life and what mattered most were his children and his precious granddaughter; Gianna and granddogs; Lucy and Rosy. Joe worked at Mesta/Whemco, served in the National Reserves, enjoyed the Pirates and Steelers and tinkering in his workshop. Home is where his heart was…
Family and friends will be received at Strifflers of Dravosburg/West Mifflin, 740 Pgh.-McKeesport Blvd., Dravosburg, 15034 on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 2-8 pm. Mass will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the Light of the World Church in Duquesne with Fr. Robert Norton officiating.

Because of Joe's five year journey with new lungs, the family requests no flowers be sent to the funeral home, however donations are requested to be made to the Cardio Thorasic Transplant Clinic, c/o Shelly Tomack, 200 Lothrop Street, pgh., PA 15213.
