Joseph R. Jones

Joseph R. Jones, age 71, of Port Vue, died June 6, 2014. He was born in McKeesport on Feb. 17, 1943 and is the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth R. Richel Jones. He is the husband of the late Rita Quantz Jones. He retired from US Steel Irvin Works in the Accounting Department. He served in the US Army from 1964-1966 as a medic. He was a 1961 graduate of McKeesport High School. He was a softball coach for many years for the Port Vue Athletic Association and was very active with the Port Vue Fun to Be a Kid Day.

He is survived by his children; Kristine Intrieri of Elizabeth Twp., Michael (Robin) Jones of North Huntingdon and Barbara (Justin) Crousey of West Mifflin, grandchildren; Gianna, Scott, Rocco and Braeden, brother; Charles (Louise) Jones of Port Vue, Step Sister; Kathy (Larry) Hays of Port Vue, brother-in-law; James Quantz of Elizabeth Twp., niece; Beth Mulholland of Liberty Borough and nephew; Kim Jones of Kentucky.

Services were held at the Hunter-Edmundson-Striffler Funeral Home and were officiated by Pastor Jody Dausey.
