Joseph John Gesmond

Joseph John Gesmond, age 89, of White Oak, died Sept. 8, 2011. Born in Duquesne on April 13, 1922 he is the son of the late Antonio and Fedela Lombardi Gismondo and is the husband of the late Emma Mae Kennedy Gesmond. He is retired from Duquesne Works and was a veteran of a US Army Air Corp and Merchant Marines serving in WW 11. He is survived by children; Thomas (Barbara) Gesmond of Wexford, Gerald (Sharyn) Gesmond of N. Huntingdon, Daniel (Nancy) Gesmond of Versailles, Gloria (Paul) Mervis of Glassport, Anita (George) Hernandez of Port Vue and Joanna (David) Barron of White Oak, 21 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren, siblings Mary Rucks of Inwood, W.Virginia and Louis Gesmond of Dravosburg. He was preceded in death by children Gerogia Parker Gesmond and Joseph John Gesmond, Jr. and siblings Yolunda Marie Clayton and John Joseph Gesmond.

Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177) on Sun. 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday at 10 AM. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
