Joseph E. Dull, age 89, from White Oak, died March 5, 2012. He was born February 10, 1923 and is the son of Stanley and Mary Kata Dull.
He worked as a machinist for Westinghouse Air Brake in Wilmerding and he served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII, where he was a member of the 364 Fighter Group. He is the last surviving member of his crew. He was a member of the American Legion #701, the Polish National Alliance Lodge #352 in McKeesport and the VFW #8430 in East McKeesport.
Surviving are his children; Frances (Jon) Zalac of White Oak, Valerie (Chris) Smith of Philadelphia, Barbara (Brad) Costan of San Diego, CA,
J. Terrence (Mary) Dull of Niles, OH, Mark (Terri) Dull of Atlanta, GA, and James Dull of Newnan, GA grandchildren; John Zalac, Anne-Marie(Nick) Setting, Christine Dull, Danielle, Jillian and Josh Smith, Rachel Costan, Jessica (Ben) Harris, and Wendy and Steven Dull sisters; Helen(Ed) Misura of White Oak and Stephanie (Ed) Cyburt of N. Versailles. He preceded in death by companion of 30 years Nancy Pater and brothers; Chuck, Stanley and Walter Dull.
Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177) on Wednesday 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00. Services will be held at St. Angela's Merici on Thursday at 10:00 a.m., with Father Stephen Chervenak officiating.
Following will be burial at Penn Lincoln Memorial Cemetery with full military honors.
