Jon Scott Nestor

Jon Scott Nestor, age 59, of Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Murrysville, PA, died on Thursday, September 3, 2026. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on February 15, 1967, and was the son of the late John and Lois Nestor. He graduated high school from Franklin Regional School District and went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Jon was employed as a laboratory technician, engineer, and project manager in Las Vegas, NV, at various points of his career. He was a former member of the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in McKeesport, PA.

Jon is survived by his sisters, Lisa (Mike) Vogan of Henniker, NH; and Renee Steeley of Hoover, AL; nephews, Matthew Vogan; Andrew Vogan; and Ryan Steeley; and cousins, Ellen Nestor of Pittsburgh, PA; Mary Jane Nestor of Pittsburgh, PA; Michael (Lori) Nestor of Peoria, AZ; Steven Lasich of Delmont, PA; and Mark Lasich of Delmont, PA.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jon’s memory at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, and Adam Striffler Galaski, funeral directors, 412-678-6177) on Friday, October 16, 2026, from Noon until the time of prayers at 12:30 p.m. Fr. Celestine Xu will officiate. Burial will take place at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church Cemetery.
