John "Rabbit" Louis Fitz

John Louis "Rabbit" Fitz, age 90, of McKeesport, died Nov. 18, 2011. He was born in McKeesport on Jan. 15, 1921 and is the son of the late John and Rose Teslovic Fitz. He is the husband of the late Pauline "Punya" Fitz. He is retired from National Tube Works after 40 years, 9 months and 3 days. He is survived by daughters, Jeanne (Craig Rowland) Minnicks of Sewickley and Linda (Bob) Elliott of Prospect; grandchildren, IIan, Aaron, Owen and Evan Elliott; 7 great-grandchildren, 3 step great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings, Johanna, Rose, Margaret, Veronica and Joseph.

John loved racing pigeons, beagles, parakeets and spending time with Pun at the camp in the mountains.

Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor 412 678 6177) on Sun. from 2:00 until 6:00 pm. Liturgy will be held Monday at Noon at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church.

Burial will be in McKeesport and Versailles Cemetery.
