John "Jack" Paul Bowers, Jr., age 67, of Brownsville, died July 3, 2014. He was born in West Mifflin on March 22, 1947 and is the son of Lydia Kovel Bowers of Slippery Rock and the late John Paul Bowers, Sr.
He retired from the former General Motors Fisher Body Plant in West Mifflin. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Vietnam Era.
He is survived by his wife; Leah A. Ellicker Bowers, sons; John Paul (Jaralee) Bowers, III of Kansas City, Missouri, Jeffrey Paul Bowers of Belle Vernon, grandchildren; Jacquelyn, Abby, Chance, Dalton, Destanie, Kyle, siblings; Donald Bowers of Slippery Rock and Mary Ann (Larry) Bourquin of Sebring, FL, nieces & nephews.
Friends will be received at Strifflers of Dravosburg/West Mifflin, 740 Pgh.-McKeesport Blvd., Dravosburg, PA 15034 (412-678-6192) on Monday from 2:00-8:00 pm. Burial will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
