Joan Ruth Pierro

Joan Ruth Pierro, age 89, of North Versailles, PA, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024. She was born in Brownville, PA on November 20, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Walter E. and Thelma Gilliland Guder. Joan was the wife of the late Dr. Thomas Pierro. She graduated from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA with a bachelor’s degree in dietetics. She was a longtime member of Linway United Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her son, Thomas (Cathy) Pierro of Johnstown, OH; grandchildren, Mallory Lynn Dziak; Matt Edward (Jordyn) Dziak; Dane Thomas (Anxhela Bifsha) Pierro; Caili Nicole Pierro; great-grandchildren, Capri Dziak; Londyn Dziak; and brother, Lowman (Karen) Guder in Euclid, OH.

In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was preceded in death by her daughter, Lynn (the late Edward John) Dziak.

A burial took place and arrangements were cared for by Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177).
