Janet A. Popeck

Janet A. Popeck, age 72, of N. Huntingdon, formerly of McKeesport, died May 10, 2012. She was born in McKeesport on Dec. 31, 1939 and is the daughter of the late Frank Popeck and Catherine Popeck Ayers. She was the owner of the former Jan's Beauty Nook in McKeesport and retired from the Market District in Shadyside. She was a graduate of the John Lesko Beauty School.

She is survived by her sister Helen Jordanhazy of N. Huntingdon and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers Stanley and Frank Popeck.

Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177) on Monday from 3:00 until 8:00 pm. A blessing service will take place Tuesday at 10 am in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Polish Cemetery.
