James V. Smyrnes, age 81, of N. Huntingdon, died Dec. 4, 2010. He was born in McKeesport on June 27, 1929 and is the son of the late Venizelos and Peggy Mamas Smyrnes. He was the proprietor of the former 5 Star Travel Agency and School. He was a graduate of Duquesne University and was an avid history buff. He was a US Army Veteran.
He is survived by wife Audrey Cooper Smyrnes, daughter Kelinda Smyrnes of N. Huntingdon and a son. Also several grandchildren and brother Michael (Margie) Smyrnes of N. Huntingdon.
Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor 412 678 6177) on Tuesday from 2:00 until 8:00 pm. Services will be held on Wed. in the funeral home chapel at 10 am. Burial will follow in Long Run Cemetery, N. Huntingdon.
