James W. King

James W. King, age 91, of Monroeville, (formerly of White Oak, PA, Maryland and Bedford, PA) died March 12, 2011. Born in McKeesport he is the son of the late Charles W. and Mary Elizabeth Cribbs King. He married Anna Mae Meyers in June 1942 and she preceded him in death on March 9, 1977. He married Madaline Flook in February 1980 and she preceded him in death on Jan. 21, 2011. He was also preceded in death by siblings Jane Kostyzak, Gerald and Charles W. King.

He was retired from Bituminous Casualty Company, was a member of the Bedford Presbyterian Church, the Bedford Lions Club and was also the head of the Bedford Tree Commission. He was a US Army veteran serving in WW II, was a 60 plus year member of Duquesne-McKeesport Lodge # 731, F. & A.M. where he was a 32nd Degree Mason, and was a member of the Scottish Rite Masons of Pittsburgh and was also a Shriner.

He is survived by children James W. (Judith Thompson) King and Susan (George) Dollish all of Forest Hills, Gay Flook (Paul) Piller and Molly Flook (Kent H.) Woodrow all of Cincinnati, Ohio and Susan Flook (David N.) Glendinning of Monterey, VA. He is also survived by grandchildren Jamie Elizabeth (Rick) Dunlap, Amanda Mae (Chris) Dollish-Kotts, Rachel (Steve) Appenfelder, Jessica (John) Chapin and Drew Piller and great grandchildren Ethan, Zoey, Grace and Nathan.

Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412- 678- 6177) on Wed. from 2-4 & 6-8 pm (Masonic services will be at 7:30pm). Services will be held at Noon on Thursday in the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. Doug Friant. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
