Irene M. Mathe Mathews

Irene M. Mathe Mathews, age 91, of McKeesport, died Oct. 16, 2011 at her residence. She was born in McKeesport on Sept. 2, 1920 and was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Albert Rudick and the step daughter of the late Steve Balogh. She was one of the first volunteers for Kane Regional Center and continued volunteering for 25 years. She also was a volunteer for UPMC McKeesport and was a member of the former St. Peter's Church and Past President of the Christian Mothers.

She was the wife of the late Alex "Fats" (Mathe) Mathews and the sister of the late Margaret Rudick, Mary Boytim and Joseph Rudick.

She is survived by daughter; Gloria (Bob) Stukus of McKeesport, step grandchildren; Jeffrey, Randy, Danny, Laura and David and 7 step great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, 412 678 6177) on Tuesday from 2:00 until 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wed. at Noon at St. Patrick's Church. Entombment will follow.
