Harold Wintner

Harold Wintner, age 94, of Fox Chapel, formerly of Duquesne and McKeesport, died Aug. 21, 2014. He was born in Duquesne on Jan. 11, 1920 and is the son of the late Paul and Lena Lichtig Wintner. He was a Certified Public Accountant for 62 years until the age of 88. He served the city of McKeesport beginning in 1949 and was McKeesport's first practicing CPA. In 1992, he merged his practice with Trosch & Co. LLP in Pgh. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in the 1940's with a degree in commercial education and then joined the US army serving in WW ll. He was a 50 year honorary member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He was the husband for 63 years of the late Gladys Silberman Wintner who died Feb. 26, 2006. He is survived by his children; Jack (Bridget) Wintner of S. Fayette Twp., Morton (Lisa) Wintner of Mt. Lebanon and Nancy Wintner of Shadyside and granddaughter; Amy Wintner. He was preceded in death by siblings; Eleanor Wintner Backer and Marvin Wintner.

Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor) today (Friday, Aug. 22, 2014) from Noon until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Services will be officiated by Rabbi Paul Tuchman and burial will be in Tree of Life Cemetery.
