George J. Palyo

George J. Palyo, age 83, of McKeesport, died on his birthday May 29, 2011. He was born in Ellwood City in 1928 and is the son of the late George and Anna Palyo. He is the husband of the late Mary L. Wertenbach. He was previously employed by U.S. Steel National Tube Works, Clearview Mirror and Glass and Singer Glass Companies. He was a Navy veteran of WWII and received the Victory Medal. He was a member of the McKeesport American Legion Post 361 and the Renzie Seniors. He is survived by sons, George J. Palyo, III of Houston, Texas and William "Willie" Palyo of McKeesport, grandsons Scott and Michael and brother Steve (Pat) Palyo of Los Angeles, California.

Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177) on Wed. from 6-8 pm and Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Mass will be Friday at 10 am in Corpus Christi Church. Burial to follow.
