George E. Jessup, Sr., age 86, of Liberty Borough, PA, died on Sunday, September 22, 2024. He was born in East Pittsburgh, PA on June 6, 1938 and was the son of the late Emmett E. and Violet Scott Jessup. George proudly served in the United States Army and later retired as a truck driver for Long’s Hauling. He loved Hershey candy bars, raisin cookies, and coffee.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann Kostkas Jessup; five children, Alice Michele 'Mikki' McElroy (Howard) of Shaler Twp., PA; Leona 'Dodi' Corfield of Millvale, PA; George E. 'Sonny' Jessup, Jr. of Zelienople, PA; David W. Miller of Good Hope, GA; Alexis J. Bricker of Liberty Borough, PA; brother of Alice Droznik; six grandchildren, Jesse McElroy-Torquato (Christopher); Jodi Corfield (Jared); Justun Corfield (Crystal); Rachael Stupak (Travis); Christopher Brown (Athena); Kara Brown (Mitch); twelve great-grandchildren.
George was preceded in death by his brothers, James William Jessup; Robert Jessup; and Emil Jessup.
He will be greatly missed by his family.
A burial with military honors will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Richland Cemetery, 399 Richland Avenue, Dravosburg, PA 15034.
